If you have stepped outside recently, it is safe to say winter is here. With winter and snow come some of our favorite winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, ice hockey, and sledding. However, with all sports there is always risk.
Sledding, a common activity enjoyed by children, caused over 700,000 injuries last year alone. 30% of which was head injuries caused by collisions. Always make sure where you are sledding is clear of any obstacles and make sure you are away from other people. Snowboarders make up a quarter of all winter sports injuries which is the most of any winter sports. Half of those involve broken or sprain bones.
We here at AFC Urgent Care Dedham encourage you to be safe but should injuries occur, our team of board certified physicians are here to help. With little to no wait time, we are open seven days a week to assist with your urgent care needs. Call AFC Urgent Care Dedham at 781-461-0200 or visit us at 370 Providence Highway in Dedham MA.
